Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid supply device which sends a liquid to a first tank attached to a liquid discharge head from a second tank having volumetric capacity larger than that of the first tank without needing a pump, and to provide a liquid supply method.SOLUTION: A liquid supply device includes: a liquid discharge head mounted on a carriage; a first tank mounted on the carriage and having a first storage chamber; a second tank having a second storage chamber; a first flexible tube connected to the first tank and the second tank and allowing the first storage chamber and the second storage chamber to communicate with each other; a second flexible tube connected to the first tank and the second tank and allowing the first storage chamber and the second storage chamber to communicate with each other; a drive part which drives the carriage along a guide in a first direction and a second direction; and a first non-return valve which is provided in the first tube, allows flow of a fluid flowing from the second storage chamber to the first storage chamber, and restricts flow of the fluid flowing from the first storage chamber to the second storage chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
