Title:
LIQUID TRANSFERRING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP01148055
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the title device, reduce the weight of the same and transfer conductive liquid efficiently, by a method wherein the surface of an electrode plate is arranged in parallel to the direction of generation of a magnetic field while the title device is constituted of a laminated structure.

CONSTITUTION: Flux, generated by an electromagnet 1, passes through a magnetic circuit member 3, made of ferrite or the like which is provided with a high magnetic permeability, and becomes a flux loop 4, making a field in a direction orthogonal to the direction of the flow passage of transferred liquid. Electrode plates 2, conducting a current into a direction orthogonal to the directions of the flow passage 5 and the flux 4, are provided opposingly to conduct a current through the liquid 9 between the poles. The liquid 9 to be transferred is introduced into the flow passage 5 in such a manner and a transfer force is exerted on the liquid 9 in the flow passage 5 by the field of the flux loop 4 generated by a field generator 1 and a current 8, conducted between the electrode plates 2. The transfer force is proportional to the product of the field and a component orthogonal to the current while the current l is limited by the electric conductivity of the liquid 9, an output voltage and a current capacity. Accordingly, when an electromagnet 1, generating a strong field, is available, a large transfer force may be give to the liquid 9 even when a current, conducted through the liquid 9, is small.
