To provide a liquid treating method and an apparatus therefor for highly efficiently agitating liquid using ultrasonic waves.
A flow passage 9 passing from its tip face to its side face is provided to a horn 2 continuing to an ultrasonic vibrator 4, and the horn 2 is disposed with its tip face opposed to a mount 5 in an agitation vessel 1 with a prescribed space. A prescribed amount of water is supplied to the agitation vessel 1 through a water feed pipe 7, irradiation with ultrasonic waves is performed from the horn 2 to intensively generate cavitation at the space between its tip face and the mount 5, water is sucked up into the passage 9 by a pumping action thereof and made to collide against a blocking plate 10 and is returned to the vessel 1, and powdery particles 6 are charged into the circulating water. Then the agitation vessel 1 is rotated by a rotation unit 11, a transfer pipe 12 is made to approach an outlet port 9a in place of the blocking plate 10. Irradiation of ultrasonic waves is continued from the horn 2, treated liquid is carried to another treating apparatus through the transfer pipe 12.
