Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method which enables the suppression of corrosion attributed to an electrolyte in a process for recycling a lithium ion battery.SOLUTION: A method for processing a lithium ion battery having an electrode body and an electrolyte containing F which are encased in a battery case, provided that the electrode body has a positive electrode including, as a positive electrode active material, a lithium transition metal composite oxide including Ni and/or Co, comprises the steps of: rinsing the inside of the battery case with a cleaning liquid containing a mixed solvent of a first solvent having a relative dielectric constant of 30 or more and a second solvent having a viscosity of 0.8 mPa s or less at 25°C; and subsequently to the rinsing step, disassembling the lithium ion battery, picking out the electrode body and retrieving the positive electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: None
