Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-capacity, long-life lithium ion battery having high input and output while ensuring the safety.SOLUTION: A lithium ion battery comprises: a group of wound electrodes arranged by winding a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator; an electrolytic solution; and a battery container in which the group of wound electrodes and the electrolytic solution are enclosed. The lithium ion battery has a discharge capacity of 30 to less than 110 Ah. The positive electrode having a current collector and a positive electrode mixture applied to both sides of the current collector. The positive electrode mixture contains a mixed active material which includes a lamellar type lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt complex oxide (NMC) and a spinel type lithium-manganese oxide (sp-Mn). The average particle diameter (D) of NMC, and the average particle diameter (D) of sp-Mn satisfy the following relational expression: 1
