Abstract:
To provide a lithium ion secondary battery capable of improving cycle characteristics and swelling characteristics.
An electrolyte is prepared on both a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22, and the electrolyte is impregnated into a separator 23 arranged between the positive electrode 21 and the negative electrode 22. A negative electrode active material layer 22B of the negative electrode 22 includes a negative electrode active material with silicon as a constituting element, and a metallic conductive material with a metal element as a constituting element. A porosity (under pressure of 90 MPa) of the negative electrode active material layer 22b measured by a mercury pressure-fitting method is 10% or below.
