Abstract:

To obtain a lithium ion secondary battery improved in safety without significantly decreasing battery capacity.

A lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode 11, a negative electrode 31, a separator 21 sandwiched between the electrodes, and a nonaqueous electrolyte obtained by dissolving a lithium salt in a nonaqueous solvent, and also includes an inorganic material layer 22 containing a polyanion compound on the positive electrode side of the separator 21. The inorganic material layer 22 is bound to the separator 21, and is electrically in contact with the positive electrode 11.
