Abstract:
To provide a lithium ion secondary battery in which an amount of aluminum deposited on a negative electrode is reduced.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery 1 comprises: a positive electrode plate 2 including positive electrode current collector foil 20 made of aluminum and a positive electrode active material layer 21 formed on a surface of the positive electrode current collector foil 20; a negative electrode plate 3 including negative electrode current collector foil 30 and a negative electrode active material layer 31 formed on a surface of the negative electrode current collector foil 30; a separator 4; and an electrolyte solution 5. In the surface of the positive electrode current collector foil 20, there is a positive electrode uncoated part 22 where the positive electrode active material layer 21 is not formed. The positive electrode plate 2 and the negative electrode plate 3 are opposed to each other through the separator 4, and the positive electrode uncoated part 22 is opposed to an end portion 32 of the negative electrode active material layer 31. In the lithium ion secondary battery 1, the separator 4 includes: a first separator part 41 between the positive electrode active material layer 21 and the negative electrode active material layer 31; and a second separator part 42 between the positive electrode uncoated part 22 and the end portion of the negative electrode active material layer 31. The second separator part 42 is lower, in gas permeability, than the first separator part 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
