Abstract:
To purify lithium by recovering high purity lithium carbonate from process wastewater of a secondary battery positive electrode material containing a lithium ion.SOLUTION: There is provided a purification method of lithium for purifying lithium from manufacturing process wastewater containing lithium of a positive electrode material for a lithium secondary battery, having an ion exchange process for getting the manufacturing process wastewater in contact with an ion exchange resin, an elution process for getting an eluent in contact with the ion exchange resin after the ion exchange process, a crystallization process for adding a carbonic acid source to the elution post liquid after the elution process, a carbonic acid hydrogenating process for introducing carbon dioxide to lithium carbonate after the crystallization process, and a re-crystallization process for heating the lithium hydrogen carbonate after the carbonic acid hydrogenating process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
