Abstract:
To provide a lithium recovery method capable of effectively prevent a liquid phase from becoming white turbid during solvent extraction when concentrating lithium ions in a lithium solution obtained from lithium ion battery scrap.SOLUTION: A method for recovering lithium from lithium ion battery scrap includes: a roasting step of roasting lithium ion battery scrap to obtain battery powder; a lithium dissolution step of bringing the battery powder into contact with water or an acidic solution to dissolve lithium in the battery powder to obtain a lithium solution; a lithium concentration step of subjecting lithium ions contained in the lithium solution to solvent extraction and back extraction to concentrate the lithium ions to obtain a lithium concentrate; and a carbonation step of carbonating the lithium ions in the lithium concentrate to obtain a lithium carbonate; where sodium is added to the solution before the solvent extraction of the lithium ions in the lithium concentration step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
