To provide a battery with improved cycle characteristics by adding an imide compound to a negative electrode consisting of lithium metal, an lithium alloy or a material capable of doping/dedoping a lithium ion.
In this manufacturing method, an imide compound shown in expression I is contained. In this expression, it is preferable that X is a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl group or an aralkyloxycarbonyl group that its aralkyl part carbon number is 1 to 6, and Z is ethylene or 1,2-phenylene. A compound of expression II and expression III is exemplified as a desirable imide compound. In the expression, X1 is -(CH2)n-, {(n is an integer of 1 to 20)}, 1,2-cyclohexylene or 1,2-phenylene; and Z2 is phenyltetrayl, etc. A content of the imide compound is 1 to 30 wt.% to the whole weight of a negative electrode. An imide compound solution is coated and laminated on a negative electrode active material of a lithium alloy constituted in a foil shape or a plate shape to form a negative electrode with multilayer structure.
