Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery system capable of charging a lithium secondary battery at a high current density while preventing a short circuit, and a method for controlling the lithium secondary battery system.SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery system comprises: a lithium secondary battery including a negative electrode layer containing Li metal or Li alloy, a positive electrode layer containing a positive electrode active material, and a solid electrolyte layer provided between the negative electrode layer and the positive electrode layer and containing a lithium ion conductive ceramic material including Li, La, Zr, and O and having a garnet type crystal structure or a crystal structure similar to the garnet type crystal structure; a temperature detecting unit which detects a temperature of the lithium secondary battery; and a current control unit which controls a current density (Ie/Sc) indicating current Ie with respect to the contact area Sc between the solid electrolyte layer and the negative electrode layer on the basis of the lithium secondary battery temperature detected by the temperature detecting unit.
