Abstract:
To provide a lithium secondary battery with large design freedom of an electrode terminal, excellent pressure release operability at abnormal rising of battery internal pressure and superior safety.
This lithium secondary battery contains an internal electrode body comprising a positive and negative electrodes wound or laminated through a separator in a battery case and uses nonaqueous electrolyte. In the battery case 72, when surfaces disposed with electrode terminals 73A and 73B are to be end surfaces, pressure releasing valves (grooves 75) are disposed on the side surface of the battery case 72 orthogonal to these end surfaces.
