To provide a platemaking method of a lithographic printing plate material, which prevents a stain developing in the contact mark with the dampening water feed roller of a printing plate (a roller mark stain) from developing, is excellent in on-press developing properties and, at the same time, in printing latitude.
In the lithographic printing method, in which a lithographic printing plate material with an on press developable image forming layer on a base material is image-wise exposed so as to on-press develop the image-wise exposed lithographic printing plate at least by bringing it into contact with the dampening water feed roller provided on a lithographic printing machine and, after being on-press developed, printing is performed, the lithographic printing method comprises a process for changing the width of a nip between the dampening water feed roller in contact with the lithographic printing plate material and the lithographic printing plate material.
