Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a livestock feed derived from grains or peas intended for feed, low in processing cost, with no need of further addition of sodium bicarbonate thereto, and to provide a production method for this feed.
CONSTITUTION: This livestock feed comprises granules of at least one kind selected from grains and peas intended for feed and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) formed by impregnating the granules with both water and sodium hydroxide in the presence of carbon dioxide. This feed is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of at least one kind of granules selected from grains and peas intended for feed and being in a dried state with 5-150 pts.wt. of water and 1-35 pts.wt. of sodium hydroxide followed by agitation in the presence of carbon dioxide to form sodium bicarbonate inside and on the granules.
