Abstract:
To provide a living body observing apparatus capable of quickly and accurately performing focusing on a sample having a height such as a living body.
The living body observing apparatus is equipped with: an optical system 7 including an objective lens 6 for observing the sample 4; a focus moving mechanism 9 for adjusting the relative position of the objective lens 6 and the sample 4 along the direction of the optical axis 10 of the optical system 7; and a plurality of illuminating parts 2 for emitting spot light 3. The illuminating parts 2 are arranged so that the spot light beams 3 emitted from the parts 2 cross each other on the focal plane of the objective lens 6.
