To provide a living body tissue closing device which can easily, speedily and assuredly close a wound hole formed in an in vivo tissue membrane to achieve perfect stanching.
The living tissue closing device 1 includes an elongate arrangement device 3 of which a distal end portion can penetrate a wound hole penetrating an living tissue membrane and which has a handling portion 9 on the proximal side, and a clip 4 which is detachably retained at a distal end portion of the arrangement device 3 and which closes the wound hole. The arrangement device 3 includes a thread for detachably retaining the clip 4 and pulling the clip 4 in the proximal direction, a cover tube 6, and a fixed tube 7. The handling portion 9 has a coil spring 22. When a restriction for maintaining the coil spring 22 in a deformed state (i.e. active state) is canceled, the thread is moved to the proximal direction by the restoring force of the coil spring 22 in the condition where the clip 4 is locked to a distal end portion of the fixed tube 7, and the clip 4 is pulled in the axial direction by the thread, whereby a deformation portion is deformed.
