Abstract:

To provide a load cell which is improved in a measurement accuracy by reducing the variation, secular changes, and temperature changes of the resistances of strain gauges while the gauges are directly stuck to strain starting sections and is provided with a ceramic strain stanting body that can be used stably for a long time.

The strain starting body 10 composed of an alumina ceramic having an apparent density of ≥3.93 g/cm3 is manufactured by molding alumina powder having a means particle diameter of 0.5-1.5 μm with a pressure of ≥9.8×107 Pa and backing the molded body at a temperature of 1,500-1,800°C. After the surfaces of the strain starting sections 30,..., 30 are polished to have 0.15-0.3 μm center line average heights and ≤5.0 μm flatness, the strain gauges 40,..., 40 are directly stuck to the surfaces of the sections 30,..., 30.
