To provide a load detection device for a vehicle seat, capable of preventing internal stress due to press-fitting of a shaft member from being generated in a strain-generating member.
The shaft members 30, 40 are press-fitted to holes 21-23 of the strain-generating member 20 to which strain gauges G1 and G2 are attached. The shaft members 30, 40 include: a scraping projecting part 42b formed so as to include surface hardness lower than that of the holes 21-23 of the strain generating member 20 and scraped off by the holes 21-23, when the shaft members 30, 40 are press-fitted to the holes 21-23; and a non-press-fitting part 42a adjacent with respect to the scraping projecting part 42b, in the circumferential direction of the shaft members 30, 40 and forming a clearance space for accommodating the scraped part of the scraping projecting part 42b, in a gap to the inner circumferential surfaces of the holes 21-23.
