Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load drive circuit that monitors a drive current by using a MOSFET in place of a shunt resistor in the case that the MOSFET each largely different in characteristics and temperature is used for a switching element for a load.
SOLUTION: A microcomputer 32 directly detects a voltage across the MOSFET 31 as a switching element of the load 1 and monitors whether or not a drive current I exceeds a pre-defined overcurrent detection line on the basis of the result of detection. In this case, the microcomputer 32 monitors the drive current I while correcting the overcurrent detection line on the basis of the information of the difference of each MOSFET 31 stored in advance in an EPROM or the like and the temperature information of the MOSFET 31 sensed by a temperature sensor 38.
