Abstract:

To provide a load driving circuit that notifies users in advance about a sign of an abnormal condition.

A detection circuit 14 detects overcurrent or a sign thereof and another abnormal condition, as well as the occurrence of overcurrent or a sign thereof based an increase in temperature, and also detects overcurrent or a sign thereof based on a current actually applied to a load 3 through a semiconductor switching element 12. Furthermore, the detection circuit 14 detects an abnormal state of a power source voltage applied to the load 3, such as load open, and abnormal ON and OFF states. When the sign of overcurrent is detected, the information is given to a sign diagnosis circuit 18c, and a sign diagnosis signal corresponding thereto is generated.
