PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load support member of a chair capable of preventing a cover member from falling when an unexpected external force acts on the cover member and facilitating attachment/detachment of the cover member with respect to a support member body, and to provide an assembling method of the load support member.SOLUTION: A cover member 60 includes: a main cover part covering a front face of a load receiving plate and having a generally rectangular shape; a pair of side edge cover parts 60b extended on right/left sides of the main cover part; a first edge engagement part 60c and a second edge engagement part 60d arranged on an upper and lower sides of the main cover part. A pair of engagement grooves 61 are arranged between the load receiving plate and a strength member. An insertion opening 62 is arranged on one end of the engagement groove 61 in a longitudinal direction. In the cover member 60, the side edge cover part 60b is engaged in the engagement groove 61 via the insertion opening 62 and the first edge engagement part 60c and second edge engagement part 60d are folded and engaged on upper and lower sides of the load receiving plate respectively.
