The loader apparatus includes: a workpiece holding unit 3 for holding and releasing a workpiece W; a traveling unit 4 moving between two points P1 and P2 while holding the workpiece holding unit; elevation units 5, 6 which receive/deliver the workpiece holding unit from/to the traveling unit at the two points and are elevated/lowered while holding the workpiece holding unit; rope bodies 20, 23 which are hung on fixed pulleys 16-19, 21, 22 and on the one ends of which the elevation units are suspended; a basic counterweight 24 to be suspended on the other end of the rope body; an additional counterweight 25 to be attached freely detachably to the other end of the rope body; a weight attaching/detaching means 26; and an elevation actuator 27 for supplying driving force in order to elevate/lower the elevation unit.
