PURPOSE: To obtain a loader capable of automatically supplying a S group of printed books to a supply part of a bookbinding machine using a robot or the like only by modifying an existing equipment to a slight extent.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of printed books bundled in a stacked state are clamped from the both sides thereof by side plates 2 each having a cutout part 2a of a predetermined shape at approximately the center thereof. A printed books group 1 integrally bundled by a binding rope is handled as a unit. A printed book group clamper 40 for clamping only the printed books from outwards through the cutout parts 2a of the side plates 2 on the printed matter group 1, a binding rope cutter 34 for cutting the binding rope of the printed book group 1, and a binding rope presser 35 for pressing the binding rope against the side plates 2 are incorporated into a hand device 20 conducting a predetermined transport action by detachably sucking the side plates 2 on the both sides of the printed book group 1 from outwards.
