PURPOSE: To automatically carry blue tires from a storage position to vulcanizers by a loader which is able to move in parallel and perpendicular to a line of the tire vulcanizers.
CONSTITUTION: A carriage 3 travels on a rail 2 via wheels 4 and moves toward a blue tire storing position. With a signal to confirm that a certain blue tire has been set, a grasping device 11 is lowered by a lift. Each shoe is expanded to grasp the blue tire T from the inside of its bead part, and after lapse of a given time, the grasping devive 11 is raised up by the lift. With a signal to indicate that the blue tire T has been lifted, telescopic arms 6a, 6b are contracted and then the carriage 3 moves to a certain vulcanizer position in parallel to a line of vulcanizers. Subsequently, the arms 6a, 6b are extended and the blue tire grasping device 11 is descended at their stroke end, so that the blue tire T is loaded in a vulcanizer 1. With a signal from the vulcanizer 1 to indicate the completion of loading, each shoe is closed and the grasping device 11 is raised up to a given position. Upon this, the arms 6a, 6b are contracted, while a mold in the vulcanizer is closed and then the blue tire is subjected to the vulcanizing process.
