In a loading device for a bulk carrying vessel having the long hopper shaped storage tank 4 provided in a longitudinal direction of the ship body 1 and having bulk loaded in the storage vessel 4, an endless chain conveyer 10 driving and circulating in a longitudinal direction of the storage vessel 4 is covered by a cover body 20 opening downward and is provided on an upper end center line of the storage vessel 4. A bulk loading opening is provided on the cover body 20 at a roughly center part in the longitudinal direction. A carrying floor 22 on which a reciprocating part 10a of the chain conveyer 10 travels is provided over a lower position of the loading opening 21 to at least the reciprocating part 10a of the chain conveyer 10. A slide gate 25 is provided at a lower position of the loading opening 21 of the carrying floor 22.
