PURPOSE: To load and place an object to be sewn in good order in a twofold state on a loading base by calculating automatically a bend position of the object to be sewn from a difference of a detection time of the front end and the rear end of the object to be sewn caused by a sensor separated and placed in the cloth feeding direction.
CONSTITUTION: An object W to be sewn is carried out by a carrying-out device F, the rear end of the object W to be sewn is detached from a sensor 30, and subsequently, the front end of the object W to be sewn reaches a sensor 31, and the time T1 during this time is counted by a timer 34. The time T2 until a carrying-out motor 19 is stopped after the front end of the object W to be sewn reaches the sensor 31 is calculated from a distance H between a work base 22 and the time T1. Subsequently, a transfer distance I until the carrying- out motor 19 is stopped after the object W to be sewn reaches the sensor 31 is calculated. When the time T2 elapses, the carrying-out motor 19 is stopped. The object W to be sewn is loaded and placed in good order on a placing base 22 in a state folded in two from the center.
