The carriage rollers 35 in the rotating and driving region X2 is rotated by the rotating and driving means 17, the articles A in the rotating and driving region X2 is moved backwardly in the opposite direction to the travelling direction F, and a clearance is formed between the articles A in the braking region X1 and the articles A in the rotating and driving region X2. When the carriage 13 is moved backwardly, a brake shoe 51 of a braking means 16 is contacted to a mounted surface of the carriage rollers 35 in the braking region X1, and the articles A are positioned in the braking region X1.
