Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find the thrust of a hydraulic jack with accuracy by canceling the influence of frictional forces in the extending-contracting directions of the jack.
SOLUTION: Pressures in both hydraulic chambers of a hydraulic jack 1 are detected with pressure sensors 2c and 2c and the thrust of the jack 1 is computed from the detected pressures and the pressure receiving areas of both chambers. Since the computed thrust of the jack 1 contains frictional forces corresponding to the moving directions of the jack 1, the no-load frictional forces corresponding to the moving directions of the jack 1 are detected and stored in advance and the true thrust of the jack 1 is computed by subtracting the no-load frictional forces from the computed thrust.
