PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor and time in loading onto a loading platform from the ground with the use of a loading platform lifting device by holding the platform horizontal while it is lifted or lowered and automatically minimizing the step difference between the platform top and the ground when it is fully lowered.
SOLUTION: A vertical support adapted to move vertically in a stationary support 6 is divided into an upper vertical support 12 and a lower vertical support 13, both connected to each other by means of a connection member 20 with a predetermined length of clearance L held therebetween. The lower liftable support 13 supports the base of a loading platform 26, and the upper liftable support 12 is mounted with a transmission member 23 of a drive device and with a support member 35 connected thereto to support the top edge of the platform 26. The platform 26 is thus held horizontal while being lifted or lowered because of the clearance L maintained by the deadweight of the lower liftable support 13, and is tilted backward when the lower liftable support 13 is fully lowered before the upper liftable support 12 is lowered because of the clearance L thus narrowed to minimize the step difference between the top of the platform 26 and the ground.
