PURPOSE: To load a duplex layer glass on a track in its vertical posture state by a method wherein glass plates are brought into contact with a placing part and transferred, in order, to a loading track in a state that the inclining transfer surface of a vertical transfer device is positioned facing an inclining leaning member.

CONSTITUTION: A vertically movable transfer slide roller 14 is arranged on the edge surface of the lower end of a plate-form body arranged to the terminal section 12 of a vertical conveying device 2. A plate-form body 3 is fed on the transfer slide roller 14 in a state that the inclination transfer surface of the vertical transfer device 2 is positioned facing an inclining leaning member 5 or a vertical leaning member 5'. The transfer slide roller 14 is rotated by a motor drive device and when the plate- form body 3 is moved to a given position, the transfer slide roller 14 is lowered and brought into contact with a barrel-form roller 8 and transferred to a loading track. The loading track is then moved and orderly transfer is repeated so that a next leaning member 5 or 5' is positioned facing the inclining transfer surface of vertical transfer device 2. Gradual pitch feed is effected by a pitch feed device and after completion of loading, conveyance in the direction of an arrow mark on a rail is executed by a chain feed device 9.
