To provide a timepiece and display method capable of getting and displaying accurate time at any time even in an area incapable reception of local time information.
A short-distance transmitter 16 transmits time correspondence 14' at the same frequency and in the same encoding as time correspondence 14 of an established local long wave transmitter 12. The time correspondence 14' includes local time information 17 generated from a satellite or an Internet time server. A consumer's radio control timepiece 11 such as an alarm clock, a wristwatch or the like can be operated worldwide though the timepiece 11 is designed for the frequency and the encoding of the local long wave transmitter 12. A time receiver 18 can be designed not only as a satellite receiver but also especially as a wireless Internet access means for obtaining the information converted into the locally applicable time correspondence 14' as an item of position information in a date time format according to NTP-protocol from the WWW through a satellite antenna.
