Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a heat load for a local vacuum chamber and simultaneously to facilitate vacuum arc start in a local treatment for a metal surface by vacuum arc.
SOLUTION: In a metal surface treatment device by vacuum arc consisting of an electrode, a vacuum container, an arc power source and an exhauster, the electrode 4 is incorporated within the vacuum container, the cut-like vacuum container having sealing materials 7 in a skirt part 8 in order to hold adhesion with a member 1 to be treated is used, and an air gap is provided between a ceramics enclosure which encloses an inside wall of the vacuum container with ceramics 10 and the skirt part 8 of the vacuum chamber. Further, the inner wall of ceramics to be used is coated with a thin conductive film and a spring is attached to the backside of ceramics 10 so that such a force as pushing ceramics 10 forward acts on ceramics 10 if necessary.
