Title:
HYDRAULIC OIL COOLING SYSTEM FOR VEHICULAR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3168516
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a necessary flow rate of lubricating oil in the lubricating circuit of a shift mechanism under extremely low temperature even when the prime pressure of a water-cooled and air-cooled oil coolers is boosted.
SOLUTION: This hydraulic oil cooling system comprises a water-cooled oil cooler 12 and an air-cooled oil cooler 14 connected in series, and a bypass valve 21 for circulating hydraulic oil of low temperature between a hydraulic control circuit and a shift mechanism lubricating circuit 15 both of a vehicular automatic transmission so that it bypasses both water-cooled and air-cooled oil coolers 12 and 14. A relief valve 33 is disposed to cause hydraulic oil to flow from the water-cooled oil cooler 12 direct into the lubricating circuit 15, not through the air-cooled oil cooler 14, when the hydraulic oil pressure of an oil passage 13 between the water-cooled and air-cooled oil coolers 12 and 14 increases.
