To provide a lock device for a folding table which permits smooth, secure and highly reliable locking and unlocking motions, permits easy assembly, and requires less accuracy in the working and assembly of members.
A top panel metal fixture 16 and a lock metal fitting 17 are disposed between side panels of an upper arm 13. The lock metal fitting is pivotally supported on the side panels 15 of the upper arm with a support shaft 21. A lock pin 22 to be engaged with a first engagement 19 or a second engagement part 20 of the top panel metal fixture 16 to retain the horizontal attitude or the raised attitude is loosely inserted into a slot 23 formed on each side panel of the upper arm. The lock pin is received in a forked locking part 24 formed at the end of the lock metal fitting, and the lock metal fitting is urged by an resilient urging means 25 in the direction of engagement of the lock pin with the first or second engagement part. Then, the lock metal fitting is turned to retract the lock pin along the slot, so that the engagement with the first or second engagement part is released.
