Title:
LOCK MECHANISM IN PEDALLING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3785482
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock a pedalling plate at the pedalled position by providing a spring to make a hole abut obliquely against a lock rod and an operating plate provided turnablly on the pedalling plate to be connected through a connecting rod to the other end of a brake plate.
SOLUTION: When a pedalling plate 25 is pedalled by the foot, a lock rod 62 expands a spring 69 to descend while sliding in a hole 68 of a brake plate 66. Then, the inclined condition of the brake plate does not change and the hole 68 obliquely makes contact with the rock rod 62. When the foot is separated from the pedalling plate, the pedalling plate 25 is urged upward by a spring 28 to operatively rub the brake plate so that a frictional force between the brake plate 66 and lock rod 62 is further increased to block the lock rod 62 from the ascent and hold the pedalling plate 25 under the locked condition. Next, when an operating plate 63 is pedalled, the tip of the brake plate 66 is lowered through a connecting rod 70 to be set to the condition substantially orthogonal to the lock rod 62. Thus, a gap is formed between the lock rod 62 and hole 68 to eliminate the frictional force and release the locked condition.
