To provide a lock mechanism for a vehicle, capable of surely locking an opening/closing body by fitting a lock pin into a fitting hole.
A lock mechanism 3 for a vehicle includes: a pair of fitting holes 5 formed in a pair of lateral faces of a box part 10; and a pair of lock pins 6 each held by an opening/closing body 2 movably in an advance/retreat direction with respect to each fitting hole and detachably fitted in the fitting hole. A part which is an inner peripheral surface of the fitting hole or/and the lock pin and is positioned on a housing side of the opening/closing body has tapered faces 5a, 6a inclined so as to narrow an opening width in a movement direction of the fitting hole or/and a width in a movement direction of the lock pin toward the advance side of the advance/retreat direction of the lock pin. When the opening/closing body is positioned at the deepest position of the housing side, the lock pin enters the fitting hole along the taper faces by urging force of a pin urging member.
