To improve working efficiency by reducing working steps required for locking and unlocking a mechanical locking device.
The mechanical locking device comprises: a hollow cylindrical insertion member 11 opened at a rear end; a large-diameter part 23 provided on a rear outer periphery of the insertion member; an operation shaft member 41 housed in a hollow inside of the insertion member so as to freely move forward and backward in an axial direction, and always energized backward by a first elastic member 47; a lock piece 61 housed in a mounting hole 17 formed on an outer wall of the insertion member positioned in front of the large-diameter part, retractably supported in inner and outer diameter directions, and projecting in an outer diameter direction from the mounting hole; a second elastic member 65 always energizing the lock piece in the outside diameter direction; an action piece 63 projecting toward an outer periphery of the operation shaft member from the lock piece; and embedding means 49 provided on the outer periphery of the operation shaft member, engaged with the action piece, and for embedding the lock piece in the mounting hole via the action piece when the operation shaft member is pressed forward against the first elastic member.
