Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock-up clutch superior in smoothness in operation by reducing friction and hysteresis in expanding and contracting a spring.SOLUTION: In a lock-up clutch including a piston 5 capable of being kept into contact with and separated from a driving rotary member 1, and a spring 6 held by the piston 5 in a state of being curved into the circular arc shape along a circumferential direction of the piston 5, and set to engage with an engagement portion 30 disposed at a driven rotary member 20 side, at least one of an end portion and an intermediate part in an axial longitudinal direction of the spring 6, displaceable in the circumferential direction of the piston 5 relatively to the piston 5, is further provided with at least one spring restriction member 8 engaged with the spring 6 so that movement to a radial outer side of the piston 5 is restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
