Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock-up clutch capable of improving smoothness in operation by reducing friction and hysteresis in expanding and contracting a spring, and elongating expansion stroke of the spring without increasing the total number of the springs too much.SOLUTION: A lock-up clutch including a piston 5 capable of being kept into contact with and separated from a driving rotary member 1, and a spring 6 held by the piston 5 in a state of being curved into the circular arc shape along a circumferential direction of the piston 5, and set to be engage with an engagement portion 30 disposed at a driven rotary member 20 side, further includes at least one spring restriction member 8 engaged with an intermediate part of the spring 6 in a manner that it is displaceable in the circumferential direction of the piston 5 relatively to the piston 5, and movement of an intermediate part in an axial longitudinal direction of the spring 6 to a radial outer side of the piston 5, is restricted, and the spring restriction member 8 is inserted to a clearance gap between spring wire rods 69 of the intermediate part of the spring 6 to divide the spring 6 into a plurality of blocks.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
