Abstract:
To appropriately and efficiently ship packages.SOLUTION: In a locker device 10, one of a plurality of storage sections thereof has a function as a measurement chamber. A depth camera capable of acquiring an image and distance information is installed in the measurement chamber. When a user who wants to ship a package stores the package in the measurement chamber of the locker device 10 (S1), the depth camera takes an image of the package to measure size of the package using the taken-image result (S2). A control unit of the locker device 10 determines a shipping fee based on the size of the package (S3). Once the shipping fee is settled (S4), the package is allowed to be stored in a storage section for preservation (S5). After that, the locker device 10 locks the storage section for preservation. The package stored in the storage section is collected by a deliverer 50 (S6) and then will be shipped to a delivery destination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
