In this locking device for a door, a locking arm for locking a protruded engagement member at the time of primary locking is journalized to a lock case, a drive member to lock the protruded engagement member through the locking arm is installed on the lock case, and an unlocking operation member having a pressure member to eliminate an engagement condition between the locking arm and the protruded engagement member at the time of temporary locking is provided. In a primary locking state where one member composing the drive member is moved not to face the pressure member, the drive member and the pressure member have no relation with each other. In a temporary locking state where the member composing the drive member is moved to face the pressure member, the member of the drive member and the pressure member are in such a state that they can get in contact with each other.
