To provide a locking device of a seat slide adjuster capable of reducing the unlocking force without reducing the locking force.
In the locking device of the seat slide adjuster, the position of a seat is adjusted by the slide of a rail on a seat cushion side with respect to a rail on a floor side, the rail side can be locked by a locking member, and the lock by the locking member is unlocked by operating a handle. Locking or unlocking is performed by turning the locking member 40 around the axis of a supporting shaft 50 coupled with one side of both rails, and the locking member is normally urged in the locking direction. The handle 60 and the locking member 40 are separate from each other, and the handle 60 is connected to the locking member 40 in a relatively turnable manner. By the turning operation of the handle 60, the handle 60 is abutted on the predetermined position of the locking member 40 at the predetermined distance from the supporting shaft 50. The locking member 40 is turned in the unlocking direction around the axis of the supporting shaft 50.
