Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of food poisoning by unlocking the locking means of a swing door of a toilet stepping on a foot pedal thereby opening the door and thus the user is able to leave the toilet without touching the door after the use of the toilet.
SOLUTION: A latch 7 built in a case 8 attached to a swing door always has an exerting force in the projected direction by a compressive coil spring 9, its head portion 10 projected out from a hole 12 in a front surface plate of a case 8; and when it is linked to a hole 21 of a receiving seat 16 attached to a partition wall adjacent to the door, the door is in locked state and is in unlocked state when it is pulled inward and disconnected from the hole 21. On the other hand, an interlocking lever 32 transmitting the up-down motion of the unlocking member 22 from the pedal 5 keeps its upper end connected to the unlocking member 22, and its lower end to a receiving member 33. and by stepping on the pedal 5, the linkage between the latch 7 and the receiving sear 16 is released and, at the same time, the swing door is automatically opened by a rotating force acting to this door.
