Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a locking device oriented toward a rear seat having a narrow mount space.
SOLUTION: In the locking device of a car, a metal cover plate 17 is fixed to the front side of a synthetic resin body 1 having a recess on its front side, while a metal back plate 18 is fixed to the rear side of the body 1. A latch having an engaging groove for engagement with a striker and an engaging step for engagement with a claw of a ratchet is mounted in the recess. And on the rear side of the body 1, there are provided an open lever, which is rotated by the opening operation of a door opening handle, an opening rod, which disengages the claw of the ratchet from the latch, and a lock lever, which engages the opening rod with the ratchet or disengages the rod from the ratchet. An actuator 39 is provided on the lower side of the body 1. In this case, a portion of the plate 17 on the inner side of a car is bent toward the rear of the car so as to lie at right angles with respect to the front side of the body 1 to form an inner side bent portion 37. A portion of the plate 18 on the inner side of the car is bent toward the rear side so as to lie at right angles with respect to the front side of the body 1, spaced apart from the portion 37, to form an outer bent portion 38. An actuator 39 is held between the portion 37 and the portion 38.
