To provide a locking device, in which a malfeasant unlocking work cannot be conducted even when a hole is bored to a door.
In the locking device, a two-point drawing system in which a locking key can be retracted at both places of an unlocking place and a locking place is adopted. Grooves are formed at the four places of a place corresponding to the unlocking place and places displaced at 90° in the mutually opposite directions at 90° centering around the place corresponding to the unlocking place in a body rotatably supporting a plug for a cylinder lock. The holes for installing engaging members controlling the displacement of a bottom bar controlling the retraction of the locking key by a key-connection with the locking key are formed to the two mutually opposed grooves. According to such a constitution, the locking device can correspond to both a right hanging base and a left hanging base only by mounting the engaging members in response to the directions of the installation of the door.
