Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of conventional chairs moving up and down that the upper surface of a shoe is hurt as a pedal which was pushed down to unlock a ram needs to be pushed up to lock the ram with the upper surface of the shoe.
SOLUTION: The locking equipment for a chair moving up and down is provided with following parts: An operating shaft 4 supports its end which can move up and down and rotate clockwise and counterclockwise. A spring 5 pushes up the operating shaft. A pedal 4a for rotation rotates the operating shaft clockwise and counterclockwise, while keeping perpendicular to the operating shaft. A left and a right switches 9a, 9b, are used for lifting or lowering a ram 6a, which is activated by the operating shaft rotating clockwise or counterclockwise by driving a cylinder 6, which is designed to lift up and lower the seat. A brake shoe 10 interrupts the rotation of the ram 6a by surrounding the ram of the cylinder. A connecting means has a function that the ram tightened by the brake shoe is released by connecting the brake shoe 10 and the operating shaft when the rear end of the operating shaft is pushed down.
