Title:
LOCKUP CONTROLLER FOR AUTOMATIC SPEED CHANGER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6124874
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress shock involved in speed changing surely and effectively with a simple piping construction by performing temporary release of a lockup clutch during speed change through the use of the changing characteristic of the acting pressure to each friction element to establish the adjoining speed change positions. CONSTITUTION:Lockup valves 10, 11 are actuated by the acting pressure P3, P4 at the adjoining speed change positions. When the acting pressure P4 is applied, the valve 11 supplies the acting pressure P4 to a control means 25. This control means locks a clutch 4. During speed changing, the acting pressure P4 decreases while the acting pressure P3 increases. With the pressure P4 decreasing, the valve 11 removes the pressure P4 quickly, and the control means 25 disengages the clutch 4. With the pressure P3 increasing, the valve 10 is actuated to act on the control means 25. This action is delayed by an accumulator etc. 28, and the clutch 4 is temporarily disengaged during the period.
