An agent program 141 stores logfiles in a storage 150. The storage 150 prevents updating of the logfiles by controlling accesses to the storage 150 according to volume management information 153. A manager program 142 communicates with the agent program 141 and collects logfiles. After the collection finishes, the manager program 142 uses a security chip 105 to sign a log deletion message, the agent program 141 uses a security chip 104 to verify the sign, confirms a correct log deletion request, overwrites the volume management information 153 which has protected the log file, and cancels protection.
