Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a log speed and ground speed holding device for a ship which is so constituted as to automatically control a log speed or a ground speed to a set ship speed, for example 0 not, when various observation and investigation on an ocean are executed.
CONSTITUTION: In a ship provided with a first thrust generating device 3 to generate thrust in a longitudinal direction; a second thrust generating device 4 to generate a turning-round moment, and a ship speed sensor 9 to output a log speed in a longitudinal direction, a log speed and ground speed holding device for a ship comprises a ship speed holding button 17 to set a log speed in a longitudinal direction; and a control device 12 to control first and second thrust generating devices 3 and 4 so as to hold a deviation between a set ship speed over water in a longitudinal direction when a ship speed holding button 17 is pushed and ship speeds over water before and after input from the ship speed sensor 9 at a constant value.
